By using low-profile capacitors and mounting the regulators on the underside of the PCB on aluminium rails I was able to get the ESP P05b PSU into the SH-101 battery compartment.

When the lid is pushed on it holds eveerything firmly in place. No holes drilled. Also a mini-xlr socket fitted perfectly into where the old 9v socket was. Power adapter is a Behringer mixer one, it provides 18-0-18v. Part No. (PSU5-SAA or MXSAAS).
